Title: Let This Be Harold's Epitaph
Post by: Adrian V on Thu 28-Jun-2018 | 21:08pm
And now, the end is near
And so I faced the final curtain
Friends and foe, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain

I've lived a life that's full
I've driven slow on every highway
I rode upon a pure white horse
And never once did I change course
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did who I had to do
And told the truth without exception.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off, more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and bleeped it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way.

Dagger burdens are hard to bear.
I'm stabbed by traitors who do not care.
They want me to be infected,
But Liberal pus will be rejected.

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've held debates without losing.
And now, as fears subside, I find it all so amusing.
Blood sweat and tear in every line,
But all the words and brains were mine.

To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has not.

To say the things he truly thinks
Not PC crap which truly stinks
The record shows I stirred the shite
And did it MY WAY.
